Guys. I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon. Pure UEFI boot system with GPT disk. I have created a Gen2 Hyper V Guest build and sysprepped. I attach the VHD to the computer via disk management which makes the windows partition d:. I then run bcdboot d:\windows to (supposedly) add the VHD to the boot menu. I've been trying this procedure on different computers that are all UEFI. Most of them tell me there is a problem with the EFI file and give me the blue screen during boot. I try to do a repair and it can't. I still dont' completely understand how BCD works so I guess that's what I need to find out. All i want to be able to do is add this VHD file for native vhd boot to a couple different machines and I cant' seem to get it to work. Maybe I need to do more of the commands on this page (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd799299(v=ws.10).aspx) but as of now after reading it I really just thought I needed to do bcdboot d:\windows. Help would be appreciated on this. I've spent hours trying to just come up with a method that will work for multiple machines for this process but have yet to do so. THanks in advance for the help.
