Sony Vaio Display issue

Hi Experts,

I am using Sony Vaio VPCEB44EN model. Few days back the screen went all black. The laptop is starting fine and when I connected to External screen through Wire, the screen appeared in external laptop. Can anyone suggest if it is Graphics card issue, Screen Wiring issue or anything. Will be of great help.

If an external monitor works okay the graphics chip is fine. The fault is limited to the laptop screen itself.
It either needs a new backlight, a new inverter board, or both.

Yeah Philip is right, usually if that is the case though, you can see the shadows of images on the screen, if you hold it under a light.
