Is overclocking worth it I'm planning on building a new pc soon and I've never overclocked also the cpu I plan on using is a i5 4690 or the k version

Dpends on your budget. If you have more than 1000$ to spend, definitely get a K CPU as it can boost performance by a lot. Or else, stick with a locked CPU.
