Hey
I have added my "GTX 660" from my old computer onto my new build:
"gigabyte gaming 5 z97
gtx 660
intel core i7 4970k
hdd and ssd
evga 850w +80 gold certified
"

When I play a game such as assetto corsa, it can be from 1 minute or sometimes 30 minutes where it suddenly freeze, i start to hear strange sounds from my monitor (like fuzzy strange static sounds) and then sometimes i am forced to restart my PC, sometimes i can ctrl alt and del it and close the process.

I have literally tried every single possible fix, such as evga power management, internet explorer fied, im also using windows 8.1 so idk if if use windows 7 it might fix it, ive tried registry fix, memory clock etc fixed (-100 or lower < didn't work) running cc cleaner, turning off anti virus as when this happens i get (Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware) ive tried memtest for ram, nothing had popped up, ive scanned hdd < nothing again,

i dont know if its my gpu or something else? Should I try updating my BIOS somebody had said to me or some how adding more power?

is there something i can do IN order for one of you to help solve my problem? like by giving you specific logs etc so we can get down to this?. It's really getting me down as my pc was working fine before i installed this graphics card, and im not sure what is causing it as i only happens when i play games.

is somebody on this forum able to seriously help me solve this continuous problem :(  :??:

Others have said try updating bios but im scared, and also to try another pci-e slot?

u dont need to tuch the voltage or the bios and it's totaly not a windows problem

lets start with the first things:

-install gpu-z: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2398/techpowerup-g...
and at the sensors tag check the gpu temps and make sure none of them are getting higer than 70/80 *C even when gaming.

At idle I am getting 44-48 degrees.
When playing games for example "Assetto Corsa - where the crashes happen sometimes within a couple of minuts or 20-40 mins. I can tell when its about to happen because I hear these fuzzy buzzing kind of sounds, like there is interference with the audio or something, and then my pc freeze and i have to restart by pressing button.

60-78 degrees

it depends on the games, on css its only like 40-50.. but on games like arma 3 assetto corsa etc its 60-78.

that temp is not huge but it could be the cause.Next step will be to install msi afterburner and rise the fan speed and Lower a bit the clocks see how this goes in the game.

hm okay, okay ill try that now
wow, i lowered both clocks to -48 and 49
and increase fan speed to 52.. it crashed straight as i press "drive" button on the game..

and then checking event viewer

Log Name: System
Source: Display
Date: 17/10/2014 18:42:20
Event ID: 4101
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

if u installed more than 1 time the video driver in this windows then the gpu driver is conflicting with the older driver,or u didn't didin't installed the correct driver
