I have a laptop that I need to keep running for my company. It has Windows 7 32-Bit on it, and it's 2 years old. I cannot just replace the unit as I would like but we need to get Service Pack 1 installed so we can upgrade to Internet Explorer 11. For whatever reason our training software will only work in Internet Explorer 11. I begging you guys for any ideas you have as I have exhausted what I can find via fancy Google-fu.

1. Windows Update does not recognize that there are any updates to be had. Not even optional updates.

2. I have ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter and it detects no problems.

3. Tried to check for updates with my security software disabled.

4.Tried the above in safe mode and by manually downloading the SP1 files for install.

Please help.

Thank you!

windows 7 oem numbers were broken a long time ago do to this microsoft made windows 7 users download a geniumin validation tool.

if this got damaged or your laptop failed it then you wont be able to download updates or install the service packs. try checking to see if your laptop passes that if not call up microsoft let them see if windows is damaged.

Are you sure this is a legal version of Windows 7 32 bit?

Yes this is a legal copy of Windows 7.

Although your comment did prompt me to try something. I'll post back if it works. *fingers crossed*
