Hello.

This may be a stupid question but - I have just finished building my rig and everything is fine except I can't figure out how to plug the case fan cables into the MOBO. I have a Nzxt 530 Case and a GigabyteZ97M-D3M MOBO. The MOBO (SYS_Fan1 and 2) are 4 Pin connectors. The Case fan cables are 3 Pin (Plugged into the back http://www.computershopper.com/var/ezwebin_site/storage...) But the unplugged end of the cable looks like the 2 pin connection on the left in this picture (http://images.maplinmedia.co.uk/power-supply-cable-2x-3...$CT5MexiepKeUj&V=BJa1) I don't know how to fit these into the MOBO.

Any help would be appreciated.

No bumping. This short 'answer' bumps your thread to the top of the list ahead of others who have posted: not allowed.

I understand your frustration, and I haven't worked with an NZXT case so am not going to suggest a fix, but "Motherboards" might not be the place to post. Do you mind if I move your thread to "Components?"

Hello. Yes moving this thread to components would be fine. Thank you.

Back. Your second link, re. the 2pin connection, doesn't work. Try replying with that link in a single line. I have a feeling that that connector doesn't attach to the mobo, but need to see the picture.

Thanks for replying. I just realised that the link I posted was broken. I'll upload a picture.

Hmm. It looks like you just need to convert the male 2-pin (which appears to be designed to accept a standard 3-pin fan plug) into a female 3-pin. So a female-to-female 3-pin fan adapter:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/15749/cab-840/ModMyTo...

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but from the pictures I *THINK* that is what's going on.

Thanks for your reply. I am no expert but this does seem quiet plausible. Here's some pictures of my MOBO system fans if that helps.

I think Capt_Taco is right, need an adapter. The connectors on your mobo are 3 pin, but that 3rd pin is so the BIOS/MOBO can control the fans: Your case has its own controller so just needs the two pins for power and with the F2F adapter you will just plug it into the Sys_fan header. Kinda surprised that the case didn't come with such and adapter or a simple female two pin - to- Molex adapter.

lol, seriously! What kind of manufacturer says "OK, here's a non-standard component that's not going to work with any motherboard unless you have an adapter ... but we're not giving you one, find it on your own!" I wonder if it was supposed to be included but they accidentally left it out.
