Hi guys I iust built my new rig and usually I am the one helping people but I want to know what you think. My rig: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/6XjhYJ

Problem is that when I updated the drivers and everything I got a Fs score of 9600. I rebooted and got about 10050. I then OCed the GPU to the max it could go on the boost clock in gpu tweak. I am steady at about 1273 for base clock. Then I ran FS again and got 10549. Others were getting about 800 score higher with the same clock speed ish and same stats. This includes same GPu. Why is this? Yes I have all updated drivers.

More about : low firestrike score rig

Normal Firestrike for the 970 is around ~11K at stock and about ~13K when overclocked, so something isn't right here.

Do you have 3DMark on your SSD or HDD? Also, have you tried re-installing it?

Firestrike is on a hdd right now. The sad I put in my rig list will be here in 3 days. Highest score with my gpu and the 4790k was getting like 11.5k OCed /: go to FS and look at results and type in my CPU and my GPU. Hugest score I see is a windforce at 12053

I have a 4790K with an MSI 970 and it scores in the upper 11K at stock and I can get it to around 13.3K or so when overclocked.

You may want to try a different benchmark. Heaven or Valley should help you to compare results.

Try using Heaven Benchmark and post your results.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/4409317? That is for FS. I went back home and overclocked the GPU a bit then I OCed the memory bus clock to 1832MHz.
I am probably going to run prime 95

I ran heaven and got 2258. Graphics on Ultra at 1080p with no AA Is that good? Fps floated from aout 95-102FPS on average. No OC on anything

*EDIT* Score of 1417. 1080p 8xAA Ultra with extreme tessellation.
That is a terrible score.. I really don't know what the issue is. going to be running prime95 for about 9 hours. Others were getting way better with worse specs. A guy with a i7-920 and a GTX 780 got 1565. What the actual ____

Anyone? Frag can you run heaven on your rig please with the same settings?

Compare the individual graphics and physics scores. Are you overclocking your CPU also? If the other scores with your same set up are higher, what are their CPU clocks?

If your GPU is oc'd as high as it will go and CPU clock isn't a factor in the total FS score, then its just a case of the silicon lottery probably.

Well that's a piss off. People were running their CPUs at stock. I am too. Is physics within the CPU or memory? I believe it's the memory but I am not sure. Could this be an internet connection issue?

Did another run on FS. Got 10005.. Like wut. I OCed but at the end of FS it said I was running at stock speeds.

The physics score is based on only the CPU, but is counted into the score at the end. Are your graphics scores (not total score) lower then other the other 970 scores?
edit- just noticed that your graphics score in the one you linked is 11452.

Graphics score is slower. Weird though.. I ran Uni Valley on the system and got 4664. Same settings as them only I overclocked 123MHz and 34MHz on the memory. 103% power draw. That is pretty imressive considering these scores:
