I'm building a PC for the first time, and I accidentally ordered a MSI A55M-E33 Motherboard (FM2/FM2+ Socket) when I had also ordered an Intel Core i3 4150 (1150 Socket) CPU. I don't know whether I should return the motherboard or the CPU. Whichever one I return, what should I replace it with? The motherboard cost £27.59 and the CPU cost £84.50.

Thanks in advance.

What is your preference? Intel or AMD? If Intel is your choice then return the mobo and grab H97 series mobo. If AMD is your choice then return the CPU and buy AMD CPU having FM2/FM2+ socket.

My recommendation is to stay with Intel build.

Their no reason to get a Z97 motherboard unless you plan on upgrading to a K series CPU that can be overclocked get a H97 or you could even get by with a B85.

Return the motherboard. The cpu is better than anything that will fit on the am2 motherboard.
If your budget is small, any lga1150 motherboard will do.
This is about the cheapest:

I might prefer a more feature rich Z97 based motherboard.
Here is an inexpensive one:

A Z97 motherboard is newer compared to a Z87 though as you wouldn't need to perform a BIOS update to overclock a K series CPU.
