Hi everyone,

After re-installing Windows 8.1 I've run into a problem. I've been using two brand new 1 TB hard drives in a RAID 0 configuration, but since the new installation of Windows 8, I'm getting a warning message that one of the disks has failed. When I open Disk Management it prompts me to initialize the disk. When I try to do so, it says the disk is offline. Attempting any action like formatting results in a popup saying "Data error(cyclic redundancy check)".

However, when I run a CrystalDiskInfo test, I get good results and have all hard drives working. I also made sure that I could hear the physical drive spin, so I'm guessing it's still alive and I'm having a Windows problem.

Any suggestions how to deal with my problem? Is there any tool that let's me erase my former RAID disks and start over? I don't have any important data on the drives, everything is backed up.

Thank you!

Raid 0 is just a giant gamble waiting for a failure. Get a small SSD install windows on that and get get 2-3x the performance .
