Hi,

My old HD 5750 just got fried recently after I updated my Catalyst drivers to 14.9. Need a replacement.

I was wondering if the R9 270 is having any TDR, artifact, flicker, or grey/black screen errors with the new Catalyst drivers.

Is it worth the upgrade or should I just get an NVidia GPU? My 500 watt PSU only has one 6 pin connector so I'm looking at the 750/750TI or 650/660. I'm also concerned about how old these 600 series cards are. I'd prefer getting something newer, but what would be better in your opinion?

Thanks,
Regards,

Kashif

The 270 will be faster than a 750 Ti.

You won't go wrong with either an R9 270 or GTX 660 and they're both pretty much equal and handle pretty much everything at 1080p, games have only recently started coming where I'm unable to max out all graphical settings with my R9 270. I haven't had any problems with CCC 14.9. Both cards are going to be able to use DirectX 12 too whereas your HD 5750 won't so I'd say it's worth the upgrade to keep on top as well as the extra power you'll have.

Also you can fix your old 5750 , Check this forum and write down a complaint then send it AMD's way . Link : http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2288261/amd-cata...

Try downloading the beta 14.9.1 CCC

The R9 270 is a very solid option formerly known as HD Radeon 7870 , which ever one is cheaper pick it up.

Yes, but would it be more stable? Also, I only have one 6 pin connector. I'm also considering that, otherwise the 270X would be a no brainer.

So your R9 270 is working fine with 14.9? Then I might just get that. The 660 and 270 both cost the same here. The 750Ti is cheap as hell. Thanks anti-duck!

I tried the beta drivers too. They didn't work either. I'm going to try to do another install of the 14.4 drivers after removing everything properly just to see if my GPU is actually okay or not. In any case, submitted the complaint. Thanks for the head's up man! :)

Yeah, I haven't experienced any issues at all :)  14.9 always seemed really stable for me anyway and the 14.9.1 Beta contains some hotfixes for even more stability :)

Great. Guess that's what I should go for then. The 660 is good, but the 270 is newer and gives the same or better performance.
Thanks again anti-duck :)
