Approximate Purchase Date: After 1-3 months, maybe after christmas. I'm sorry if posting here so early. I just want it plan as early as possible

Budget Range: $900 - $1000 before rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: I will used this for gaming, surfing, watching videos and some other stuff.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes, i think 20" will do.

Parts to Upgrade: N/a since this will be my first PC

Do you need to buy OS: Yes, but i dont know if i will go with win7 or win8?

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I prefer buying from newegg, because almost all products can be shipped for free, but you can suggest a better website that offers free shipping.

Location: Quezon City, Philippines

Parts Preferences: I would like it to be intel based PC, and i prefer ASUS brands for my mobo and gpu

Overclocking: Yes, since overclocking nowadays is easier and safer.

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I will be using this PC for 5-10 years and I'm considering an upgrade in the future. I want to focus on performance not on the look of the whole PC.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I'm using a Compaq presario cq60 but I'm having some overheating issues with it. At first I'm planning on buying a laptop but they say its way cheaper to build your own. And I need something to use if ever I decided to study again and have something to use to play games at the same time.

Here is what I came up so far:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Micro Center)
^I chose this cpu because it can be overclocked and it has a good rating.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($28.99 @ Micro Center)
^Im still undecided whether i should get this or not. because i5 cpu comes with stock cpu cooler.

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($137.99 @ NCIX US)
^this board got a good rating from sites that i looked up.

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($85.99 @ Newegg)
^just some decent ram

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.98 @ OutletPC)
^1TB is fine for me

Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 280X 3GB DirectCU II Video Card ($239.99 @ Newegg)
^probably the best mid-range gpu or maybe not?

Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ Micro Center)
^case. just another normal looking case

Power Supply: XFX XTR 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($89.99 @ Newegg)
^I dont know if i should get this because the I dont trust the manufacturer. maybe i should get a better ones?

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24F1ST DVD/CD Writer ($19.28 @ OutletPC)
^i will used this to install the OS. cheapest optical drive i found

Monitor: Dell P2213 60Hz 22.0" Monitor ($99.99 Micro Center)
^good manufacturer and good size. i think its perfect for its price.

Keyboard: Cooler Master CM Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle Wired Gaming Keyboard w/Optical Mouse ($27.62 @ NCIX US)

Nice build. Powerful cpu paired with r9 290, i have doubts on that mobo. I'm really not a fan of gigabyte.

other concern: I just found out that newegg only ships in USA, and i looked up some site available here in the Philippines and these parts are more expensive probably $100 or more expensive, and some parts are not available. its so sad

If you're definitely NOT going to be doing SLI with this build then you can go for the Z97-K model:

Motherboard: Asus Z97-K/CSM ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($122.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $122.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-10-18 08:27 EDT-0400

Otherwise choose the Z97-A model:

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($137.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $137.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

It's $55 at micro center if you buy the 4690k as well, normally $95.
