You can replace your gt610 with a GTX 760, yes. There are a couple of caveats to be aware of.

1) your 500w psu meets the minimum recommended by Nvidia, so an upgrade is not necessarily required but definitely would not hurt. If you choose to keep your current psu, you would want to make sure it has 2x 6-pin Supplementary Power Connectors for the gtx 760. the gt610 would not use these power connectors as it does not draw enough power to need them. If your current psu does not have them, thenyou would wnat to upgrade to one that does.

2) you would obviously need to remove the gt610 card in order to free up your pci-e x16 slot. Hopefully this is a no-brainer for you but mentioning just in case.

good luck and happy shopping.

The 500W power supply is probably a cheaper one and not the sort of thing that we would recommend, especially with an upgraded GPU.

The GT 610 has a TDP of 30W, the GTX760 170W. I doubt that you power supply has the connectors or the grunt to allow for this upgrade, so it will need to be replaced as well.
