what is authentication problem when trying to connect to wifi

When I connect to wifi at work, it finds the network but then gives me an error--authentication problem. my iphone works fine.

It may be the network admins have limited what devices can connect. I would ask someone from your IT group at work. It may be that your laptop has to be "white listed".
