I use Linux now, but am planning on reformatting to Windows just to get this patch over with (I'm planning on switching distros anyways, so I'm not only reformatting for this reason). My questions is, will the fix still work after I delete Windows and install another distro (ext4, if that matters)? I won't experience any more slow reads after deleting the partition from which I conducted the patch, correct? This patch applies to the SSD and all partitions from the time I install it to the indefinite future, regardless of format or encryption type, right?

I went through the patch (also read a bunch on it) - there is a firmware update that fixes the problem with data that is "stale" (not written to in a while). They added the 2nd part that goes through and refreshes the drive. You don't have to refresh again....
