what exactly is ati catalyst install manager used for on my laptop computer? I have been trying to uninstall programs i dont use, due to slow running, but not sure if i use this or not or if its needed? LOL

ATI catalyst install manager is part of the Catalyst control center or AMD vision application. This is related to the display driver of your graphics adapter. You want to leave it.
