Mmm, i've tried to use a router. I put everything together and i even run the setup tutorial. During the setup it says that my computer does not have wireless capabilities and i'm just like what. I just want to have wifi so i can use my phone at home. I currently have my computer directly connected to the modem.

No thats not what i meant. So currently i have my ethernet cable connected from my computer straight to my modem. I wanted wifi so i plugged everything in together in the correct spots. After i was done, i ran the setup for the router and all it said was that my computer did not have wireless capability. I don't get internet if i plug in the router.

Okay NOW I understand. You don't need any additional hardware for this. Your router is capable.

Type 192.168.0.1 in your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Explorer...). This takes you inside the firmware of your router, and you can set it up through there. I'm not familiar with your particular model, so I'm not sure how complicated it will be.

Grab your router manual (if you still have it).
