My mouse and keyboard gets "unplugged" and stops working several times a day, the lights on them turnes off and the USB unplug sound sounds. Between 5-40 seconds after they start working again. It started happening 1 month ago and I have not made any hardware changes, it seemes to get worse. Sometimes it´s only the mouse getting unplugged.
It happens randomly regardless of what I am doing on my computer.
Both use USB ports and I have tried pluggin them in in all my USB slots and used different keyboards and mouses, this has no effect.

Mouse: Steelseries Rival
keyboard: Razer Blackwidow 2014
Both have the latest drivers installed from their respective programs.

Computer Specs(Built it myself 3 years ago but it has been upgraded with a soundcard, SSD and a graphics card.):

CPU: Intel i5 2500k overclocked to 4,4Ghz
GPU: Asus GTX 680 DirectCU II Top
SSD: Samsung SSD PRO 850-Series 512GB
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB
RAM: Corsair 8GB CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE LP
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
Sound Card: Asus DX Xonar
Power Supply: Corsair TX750M 80+ Bronze Modular
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS7X LED
Windows 7 64bit Home Premium installed on the SSD

Any ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix it?
I´m sorry if my wording is a bit off, English is not my first language.

No I don´t have anything else using USB slots.
I went to Intels website and did the scan for updates thing and it said that the only thing out of date was the video driver which I then updated. It didn´t help.

So flash BIOS then turn off the computer, remove battery, leave the computer off for thirty minutes, put the battery back and turn on computer in this order?

I´m running an older BIOS version since I built my computer a year before the latest BIOS release.

I flashed the latest BIOS and had the battery removed from my turned off computer for 30min.
It didn´t work but it seemes to be less frequent now. :O

There were quite a few people that were using PS2 keyboard/mouse (there is a "Y" adapter that allows them to be used in the PS2 Port). This totally solved the problem.

You get the "Y" adapter, then an adapter from USB to PS2: http://www.cablewholesale.com/products/usb-firewire/usb-adapters/product-30u2-26300.php?utm_source=NexTag&utm_medium=cpc

Anything else you can think of? Not sure how easy those old adapters are to get around here.

So flashing the BIOS did reduce the problem but I ended up buying a new motherboard and everything works great now, thanks for all the help!
