I just got a Hitachi 42PD5000 for a friend who will want to get a ps4 in the future. As the tv only has component, vga and dvi inputs I am wondering what is the best way to make the most out of it.

I have considered using a Hdmi to Dvi cable which would work for video, but I'm afraid dvi wouldnt carry audio.

Someone told me they use a Ps4 with the same tv through hdmi to dvi but to get sound they use an amplifier. What type of amp would they be referring to? I've tried to look for a while.

I also saw someone suggested http://mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=1409

If all above fails, would a HDMI to Component (rgb and audio white red) work?

Thanks

Having used a DVI to HDMI adapter for my own TV setup I can say that it definitely does not carry sound. You can use the optical port on the PS4 for the audio separately if the TV has an optical input (which it should that is basically standard).

I am just trying to find if it does have optical in. If so that would be the best solution! keep in mind it is 2004 or so and i thought optical was newer, but i'll keep looking.. Any evidence would be awesome
