I will be going from a Nvidia 560 to a 970. Was also planning on gettng a new cooler for my CPU and new ram (sitting on single channel 4gb) since my aim is to Stream games (mainly SC2 and MMOs) and I have detected that during streaming times I get temps of 95 degrees.

So I was going to to get a Hyper 212 Plus from Cooler Master, but since I am kind of on the small side of the Motherboards I was wondering if the Ram Models Hyper X Kingston 1333mhz (2x4gb) will fit under the cooler? And, is this ram good for what I intend to do?

I currently have a I7 2600k, is this still good enough or do I need to upgrade? (this would imply getting a new motherboard, not cheap at all)

Thanks a lot for your time guys.

Solution
Definitely keep the cpu get the 212 and get at least 8 gb of 1600 ram with your 970 your golden you dont need high profile ram but you can spin the radiator up and down to avoid the ram.

1) You will see some exponential performance gains going to a 970 to 560, just make sure your Power Supply can handle the upgrade.

2) The ram should fit under the 212 and its included fan. The ram is perfectly acceptable although for an equal amount you could go with 1600 or even 1866 MHz.

3) Your CPU is adequate for modern games and should be alright for upcoming titles as well.

But will 1600mhz ram work with my Mobo? It says it only supports till 1333mhz.

of course it will work it will just run at 1333 in my opinion i would get the system and build it with the 1333 for now then update the cpu mobo in about 2 years or so
