msi z87 GD65 motherboard
cpu, i7 4770k- h100i cooler
GPU, r9280x crossfired with 7970 both windforce
8gb of ram.

so iv had my 7970 since it first came out and paired it with an r9 280x last year. i only game at 1080p at the moment, just wondering how long this current build will last with newer games coming out and higher resolution monitors.

thanks

A R9 280X crossfire will be around a R9 290X performance wise if the crossfire scales well and there is no thermal throttling.
I would say it essentially has the same lifespan as a R9 290X so possibly 2-3 years if you want ultra settings at 1080p.
These cards aren't really designed for 4K gaming if you looking for that. It may work ok for 1440p or Eyefinity setups.
