Hi guys i have recently bought a pc about 3 months ago, since i bought it almost every game i play seems to make my pc restart with no message what so ever. I am suspecting a psu or thermal problem since when it restarts the fans on the gpu go very loud. Going on event viewer gives me error 41- kernel power and the description says it may be a thermal problem. the only way it seems to play SOME games is if i put the resolution to medium or low.
games that are affected: payday: the heist, battlefield 4, AC:BF, spintires, tropico 5, Total war: shogun 2, Starcraft 2
games not affected: minecraft, gta SA, payday 2, C&C, goat simulator, banished.
my specs
gtx 660
fx 6300
8gb ddr3
1 tb hdd
450w bequiet psu
asrock 960gm-gs3-fx
my gpu can reach 85c on a load and the cpu between 40-60c

It is most likely your graphics card overheating, from what you have said. I don't really know about those other not affected games, but minecraft almost solely relies on the processor, so yeah, probably your gpu. What brand is it? The stock cooler may not be very good for high temperatures. If it is a good brand, then open up your computer and check the airflow. Some cables might be blocking it's fan. Move them out of the way and then try it out. :)
