18 months ago I built this machine: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/mbcollins93/saved/7wwV3C

I am in the mood for some upgrades. What do you guys think? Is it time to upgrade CPU and GPU or should I spend my money on SSD? I am a fairly heavy gamer, but I play a lot of older games, indie games, and strategy games. Metro is probably the most intensive game I own. I still take pride in being able to run current intensive game on top settings. In particular, what do you guys think about the i5 3570k? Is it still a top of mid range cpu? Thanks in advance!

Solution
It is a high end gaming CPU, you'll not get any performance boost with any i5 or i7 right now, your current one is plenty for any game or GPU (or SLI/CFX) right now and some years. I'd upgrade the GFX to GTX 970 to max out any latest title with decent 40+ FPS :)

Yeah, I figured as much, but it is just so damn sexy!

Just an insight, GTX 980 is 10-15% better than 970, but costs 50-60% more, and SLI 970 will throw the 980 out of water performance wise. Even a single 970 can max out pretty much any title, I'd get one right now and another one a couple years down the road when you feel choppy on maxing out the then latest titles :)
