So ive just got my new motherboard as my asrock extreme3 990fx just wasnt upto the overclocking job, and ive not got a msi 990FXA-GD65 as i heard this would do the job nicely, and better yet, i got an awesome price on it.. SOi threw on a nice 4.4ghz overclock at 1.38 V and ive gotten into windows, ran prime95 and this is what happened...
After about 2 minutes of running the software, worker 6 stopped working first, and then worker 5 went out next, the temps are nice and low, with the cpu running at around 50 degrees celcius...
So what could be the cause of the cores stopping? do they need to be fed more voltage? or should i drop the oc a touch?
Please give me something to try, as i wanna get it running as stable as possible..
