please bear with me this is a long post lol. So about a month ago i posted the following thread:
-----------------------------------------------------
So a few weeks ago i suddenly get a blue screen of death(BSOD). i run disk check, try repairing my disk with the OS disk, and even formatting the disk. nothing worked. i then gave up and replaced my hdd. SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN! I then took my whole pc apart, and put it back together again, put in a new hdd (the third one now), and everything seemed to be working just fine for a while. Until just now! My pc boots fine and everything runs perfectly for a few mins but then BAM! i get a BSOD telling me "registry error" with stop 0x00000051. Felt like somebody punched me in the gut. it works just fine in safe mode. i really don't know what to do anymore guys. feel like ripping out my hair and i'm really worried about my baby(my pc lol). it's like this nightmare won't end. Can anybody please tell me how to solve this issue in simple layman's terms lol. this was my fist ever rig. PLEASE HELP!!

System:
i5 3570k
MSI MPower Z77
8GB (4GBx2) corsair vengence ddr3 1600 RAM
Gigabyte GTX 760 2GB oc
Thermaltake 650W litepower psu
win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
thanks in advance guys.
--------------------------------------------

i got a few good respones and i finally thought my problem was over. however i was sadly wrong. i was browsing the web then suddenly i notice the desktop icons are all gone, sound and other devices including internet connection doesnt work anymore. i reboot and everything was working again. this happened for a few times over the course of a week until now, my hdd is dead and wont be picked up at all. this is the 4th hdd I've lost now!!! im fairly sure its a hardware issue. possibly my psu or maybe mb. dont think ill be buying msi or thermaltake products anytime soon. PLEASE HELP!! how do i identify the ROOT cause ? Thanks!

Get an SSD.

You could just have super bad luck.

also this can happen if you have super bad power outages or you have you PC in a cheep power surge.

But seriously get an SDD, they are far better.

Also have you tried reinstalling your OS?

I would also think about Changing PSU to be safe.

Hello... Are you using a legit copy of Windows? Are you Downloading/Using all legit software on your Hardrives? Try Downloading and installing an Windows official SP1 ISO.

Hello... All my experience with BSOD is due to a Hardware communication, interrupting between the MB and Windows.
1) Make sure you have no un-happy hardware drivers in your "Device Manager"... No Yellow or Red icon indicators
2) Clean all card/stick edges with rubbing alcohol... And Re-insert cards.
3) Inspect and clean all DATA and Power connections... to your Hardware and MB.
4) Verify all devices CPU/GPU/MB temperatures are with in Normal operating temperatures.
5) Verify your Power Supply 12Vdc has enough current , To operate your Video Card and CPU, at the Performance setting you are using.
6) Test One Part at a time in a known Good Computer.

BSOD are tuff problems too solve... and sometimes takes all those steps I listed to get rid of them... Sometimes it can be simple fix by a BIO Setting/Driver/Software Removal/Preference Settings.

TO PROVE it is the Hardware ( FOR ME ) means installing a Fresh WIN 7 SP1 RAW ISO ( NO UPDATES ) install on a spare Hardrive with just Device Drivers will verify this... If you Blue screen with this, your hardware has a problem communicating with the MB. http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-...

The odds of that many hard drives failing are near impossible without a major POWER problem, but I'd expect the rest of your system to have issues.

*I would suggest running MEMTEST before doing anything else www.memtest.org (no need to have drive running)

all temps are fine and the hdd does not vibrate and did not take a knock. i should also mention that it is always ONLY the hdd running my operating system that gets affected. the others dont seem to be affected. i'll check all the cable etc and clean them all AGAIN lol. i will run memtest as well. dont really have the money for a psu upgrade right now, so i hope it does not come to that.

How have you confirmed that the hard drives are in fact "dead"?

Because what it really sounds to me is that you have an issue with your main system memory (DDR3 sticks) which is causing data corruption. That's why I want you to run MEMTEST. That doesn't mean a stick is bad either, it may be a timing issue but if Memtest reports an error we at least narrow down the problem.

Have you tried the "defective" drives in another computer?

i know its dead because they dont power up properly(they give clicking noises), and my pc tells me to connect a boot device which means the disk is not being read by the system. i ran memtest for one pass and no errors. ill try for more passes, and let you know what happens.. thanks for your help, i appreciate it.
