I had a problem where after updating the BIOS on my DELL i7 computer, nothing shows up. The desktop LEDs light up, but the screen, keyboard and mouse do not light up. I've tried resetting the CMOS jumper and then I've tried putting it into BIOS recovery mode. The motherboard I have is a DELL OEM

I assumed that by removing the CMOS jumper, it would go into BIOS recovery mode. I then plugged the computer back into the outlet, and then turned on my computer. The computer didn't turn on.

EDIT: also turns out I have a phoenix award bios

what you did is called BIOS reset. try the link i gave you. but instead of floppy disk you use a usb.

Turns out I had a Phoenix / Award BIOS so I found the similar link for it. I have an OEM Intel motherboard so I can't find the Award flash utility & BIOS file to use for my USB. I found a different BIOS flashing program though. Could I use http://biosagentplus.com/support/utilities?PHPSESSID=mfc7svan4rniihdhs0ctcll9v3 Flash 867 instead?

hhmm haven't really tested it on other BIOS flashing program...but it might work. im betting 70-80% success rate

I don't think it worked. I did however find a BIOS flashing program on the DELL site, "XPS435T/9000-A14.EXE is BIOS flashing utility for Vista32&64 bits and Win 7 64 bits.". However, I'm not certain if this flashing program will work. Also the BIOS file is included on that .exe program I think.
