I have been having issues with my new PC which I have built from new this is my first build with a graphics card as always used integrated cards in the past.

Any ways on the top of my Graphics Card there are 2 PCI sockets one is an 8 pin and the other is a 6 pin. My PSU is a fully modular Corsair AX760 amongst the numerous wires they provide is a cable which has both a 8pin (6+2) and a standard 6 and a separate 2 pin split on the same wire.

So I guess in reality its a double headed 8 pin. Do I only use this as one cable ie as either the 6 pin or the 8 pin and attach another to the non connected one. Or is this split one all I need.

The other end is a the connection to the PSU but I am not exactly sure where that should go although it seems likely the section marked CPU and PCIE.

When I connected the split cable both green light lit but that might not mean much?

This is my first step in trying to eliminate problems installing catalyst but checking the obvious first.
