I'm using a 3Ware 9650SE 16ML controller with the following:
Bios: BE9X 4.08.00.003 Firmware: FE9X 4.10.00.021

-Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
-Supermicro C7Q67 MOBO
-i7 Processor
-Intel SSD where Windows is installed

When the card is plugged in to the MOBO and everything else is connected I see the 3ware
bios and it displays all of the drives that are currently installed, also says bios installed.
I then see the Windows splash screen but it stays there and does boot.

When I reboot the system with the 3ware card removed it boots right into Windows with no issues.

I have tried the following:
-Installed 2 different C7Q67 MOBO
-2 different Intel SSD's
-Re-installed Windows

I have not tried:
-Windows 7 32 bit
-A different MOBO
-A different SSD

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I just tried it and it booted past the splash screen :) you the man. Now of course it says no bios installed, do you think it's more of a bad hard drive/s or possible a bad cable? I just disconnected all the cables going to the hard drives. I think I will now install one cable at a time until it locks up again and then if I find one I will try a different cable and if it's not the cable I will try one drive at a time. Any other suggestions?

I'm embarrassed that i didn't think of doing that but I guess I thought if the controller was detecting the drives then that wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the advice I really do appreciate it. This has been driving me crazy lol

well just do it one at a time so you can isolate which one is at fault.

no problem..any way we can help..

The cable was good so It looks like a corrupted Bios or a bad hard drive. I found the HD and replaced it, now i'm going to try and rebuild the array.

Thanks again for your help.
