I bought a pair of 560ti's which installed in my HP XW9400 workstation flawlessly. I see both devices in my Windows 8 device manager and the Geforce Experience control panel. I purchased an SLI adapter and installed it but it doesn't recognize it at all. I inspected the SLI bridge and it appeared brand new but you never know....so I'm here asking a couple simple questions I was unsure of :
1. My XW9400 system has PCI express x16 Gen 1 slots. Does SLI require something with more bandwidth (PCIe 2 or above).
2. My power supply (stock 800W) seems powerful enough however I did not have enough native 6 pin molex connectors for the GPU's, so I bought some adapters to make it all work. Is it enough satisfaction to see these devices in control panel and actually driving graphics off each adapter to know I'm supplying sufficent power to the GPU's ? I currently have a 23" display hardwired to each card. One on HDMI and one on DVI and the NVIDIA Geforce Experience control panel says as much.
Depending on the feedback on 1 and 2 I get I may just purchase another SLI bridge. Seems I might have gotten a lemon.
