Z97 motherboards do not have a IDE ribbon cable port... you will need an adapter. It may be a HD adapter or a PCI/pcie to IDE card.
Hard Drive Adapters (should work for both IDE HDD and CD/DVD Drive)

These adapters can be attachedd to the drive converting it to SATA so you can connect a SATA data cable to it... The power connection depends on the adapter, if it has or not a SATA power connector. So you can use the SATA or Molex IDE connector.
