New Graphics card makes Monitor lose signal?

So I bought a SFF Desktop computer.

The computer is a DELL Optiplex 740.

I bought it cheap wanting to use it as a first build to get the hang of computing and also I would love to play games with my friends on a PC instead of console.

So I went out today and purchased a GeForce GT 610 With the LP Brackets bundle along with 2GB more RAM.

I fitted in the RAM first and booted up the system to make sure it all worked. It did. I now have 4GB of RAM.

I then powered down the computer removed the power lead and waited for the light to go out on the MOBO. I am very "Noobish" at this kind of thing so I was extra cautious with everything.

So I unpacked the Card swapped out to the LP Plates and pushed it into the slot it corresponded to. Plugged the cable back in and turned it back on.

(Prior to this I deleted the integrated graphics drives and made a copy of the files on a external memory stick aswell as make sure my new graphics card would be chosen first by removing auto in the BIOS).

I booted the computer up the DELL Splash screen came up and then so did the Windows Splash screen/loading screen (with the 4 coloured lights rotating to form the window, I'm on WIN 7 64Bit).

However.... As soon as the windows screen disappears and I instantly lose signal to the monitor (The monitor turns black and says "power down mode" I'm assuming it means "No Signal/Lost Signal"). But the computer is still running as it usually would, it sounds fine and there are no beeps what so ever.

I've also tried Safe Mode aswell as Low Res mode and even Revert to best time or something or other.

It's been very confusing and frustrating and I kind of feel like I need to laugh because I bet it's something straight forward and i've just looked over it. Oh dear haha.

But yes, I've tried re arranging the RAM sticks i've remounted the Card. I've done pretty much anything I can think of.

Thanks so much in advance!

So yeah, if anyone may know the situation I'd love for you to let me know!

It would not allow me to install the drivers for my new graphics card due to when I put the installation disk in first it says it can't install drivers due to it not being able to find the hardware due to it being out because I can't see anything with it in.

When the display goes out, move it back to the integrated port and see if thats where it went.
If so then you need to make sure your bios is set to initialize the add in card first, which might be called PCEi, PEG, PCI...

If I have the graphics card installed onto the MOBO and I have the cable in the Integrated GFX it comes up saying another graphics card has been spotted please power down the machine and place cable into the newly installed card and restart.

The only options I have in the DELL BIOS is "Auto" or "Integrated/Manual" Which will manually use one I put in that isn't integrated. I have tried both.

EDIT. It got to the login screen this time but alast it repeated itself and lost signal. I put it iyou nto the integrated like you said to do but it finds no signal on either.

EDIT. Tried it in a HDTV with a HDTV also and still gave the same problem so its not the monitor.
