I bought a pc a couple of years ago and now it's a bit <mod edit>. I'm looking for a major upgrade but this will entail ditching my TV screen for an actual monitor and buying a desk and chair etc.

Since I never ended up building my pc last time, I learned the hard way what a rip off PC manufacturers are and so I'm hoping to put it together myself this year.

Are there any decent builds using quality parts that I could put together (including a monitor, keyboard and mouse) for around £1200 that could maybe [Hopefully] max out BF4 and other graphically demanding games. If you guys could list the websites and total costs I'd really appreciate it and any other advice you may have.

Thank you [whoever you may be] for acknowledging my desperate plea

Here is what I'd consider. Keyboard/Mouse are personal, so I'm just suggesting some good options (not always the cheapest options, but of good quality):

This system is a good all around system with emphasis on gaming (because of the GTX 980). You can get AMD's R9 290x, which is pretty good too, so keep that in mind.

Here is the same build, but I included the R9 290x GPU instead, so you can see the difference in prices:
