I'm building a custom pc and I'm looking for advice on what graphics card to get? I have settled on EVGA overclocked With ACX cooling cards. I'm going with the i7-4790 cpu with the ASUS Z97-PRO WiFi mobo. I will mostly be video editing in vegas movie studio and some 3d rendering not a lot and some moderate gaming. The cards I'm looking at are the GTX 770, GTX 760, and the GTX 750. All with the ACX cooling. Which one would you suggest? I still want to be able to play some games without paying too much.

It does not yes, but having it wouldn't harm and games are already using more even on 1080p. a 970 overall is a better card :)

Go for gtx 760 because you won't be paying too much and moderate gaming can be achieved on this and ofcourse rendering and stuff.
970 is for high end gaming and most probably high price tag.

Some shops did not reduce the 770 price, so if it was around 400$ you better get a 970, it'd be more performance and more vram (if you are searching for the 2GB 770). If the 770 price is lower then it's your best choice .

VRAM does not really mean better performance, however, you are right about the 970 vs 770, I would go for 970

Now if you really want to be pretentious you can go for the GTX 980, however the price vs performance isn't great, also some vendors of the 970 have a overall higher clock than the 980
