Help! My pc got bsod (atikmpag.sys) after installing the latest amd graphic card (14.9)!
I've been looking everywhere just to fix this issue. Many people tell me that I need to expand the atikmpag.sy_ and replace it in c/windows/system32/drivers. But they tell me that I need to do that solution directly after insttalling the latest amd graphic card but everytime I'm installing the latest amd graphic card I got bsod, so I can't do that solution.
Here is my spec:
Processor: intel core i3
Vga: amd radeon hd 7400m (enduro)
That's all that I can tell you. Thanks!
Sorry for my bad english, I'm Indonesian ;)

In this case the latest beta is a bug fix. Most of the time the beta has partially tested features and fixes compared to the non beta's. In most cases the beta is going to be better for recently released games and hardware but may not have the stability of non-beta drivers.

But as I said the current beta driver 14.9.1 seems to be technically the same as the 14.9 driver the main difference seems to be fixes to the installation process to deal with crashes (BSOD's etc).

EDIT: Another way of seeing things is knowing the phases of development.

Alpha: Adding of Features for development and implementation.
Beta: Freeze features and finish development and implementation. Usually only minor small features are usually added in this phase if any.
Release Candidate: Code is tested for release and if no major bugs are found it is sent out to the customers as a release build.

Mind you some companies seem to treat beta builds as alpha builds... (usually game companies)

Hmm if that is the case then I would recommend to uninstall and try installing the 14.9.1 again or install the 14.4 drivers and use those until the next driver set comes out that hopefully works well with your card. Unfortunately mobile graphics cards are always seem to have more issues with drivers compared to desktop graphics cards and this might be one of those issues.
