So i recently got my sapphire 7950 and i've been getting black screens or crashes when playing games. On Battlefield 3 i get a message saying something sort of like this "14.9 amd driver error" and i have to force quit the game. It doesn't always happen on BF3 but it happens 80% of the time. On America's Army: Proving Grounds Beta The game just goes into a black screen and then it is playable again. For DayZ Standalone I play it for a couple of minutes and then the game freezes leaving me to force quit the game through the task manager. Is this a driver problem or a gpu problem? My Driver for the gpu is 14.301.1004 and i have amd catalyst 14.9. Bf3 and aa:pg can be run on ultra setttings with both 50+ fps. DayZ on the other hand is normally between 15-60 because of my cpu not being as great. My PC Specs are:
AMD FX-4300 3.8 Ghz
750 Watt Corsair PSU
8 GB Memory Ram
1 TB Hard Drive
MSI 760GM Motherboard
Help me please!

I would say this is definitely driver error. Uninstall the driver and all mention of the AMD video driver from the system, make sure you don't have the integrated drivers to the motherboard installed as those also will cause problems. Then install the driver again.

Btw. Your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU, so in future you want to upgrade cause your GPU won't get used to its full ability otherwise.

Yes I know my cpu is bottlenecking me and I'm planning on either getting the fx 8320 or 8350 depending on how much money i can spend but thanks for telling me :). On the other hand I don't really understand how to do all this uninstall driver thing and it confuses me alot. I;m not much a tech person

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. I've had countless AMD cards...you have a driver issue. Get rid of it and then install it again.

Yeah just go on AMD's website and get the driver for it when your finished.

Yea sorry its called AMD Catalyst, should of been more specific. Just be sure you get the integrated graphics driver too. I've heard several cases of the drivers clashing when there there is graphics on the motherboard and graphics card of the same maker. I guess they get confused since a lot of the programs names are the same, so that will probably help.

I think that happened to me when I first installed the gpu. I then had to reinstall the os, lost many things but it was worth it.
