Ok, so a bit of backround.

I built a computer in 2013, there were no issues.

Today, I installed kali linux on a usb using said computer, and booted into it. I found that I could not connect to the internet with my wired connection. I made some changes to the kali files:

ifconfig said that my pc had eth1,

I put these two lines in the file:
/etc/network/interfaces
The File:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
<allow-hotplug eth1>
<iface eth1 inet dhcp>
<> = My Edits.
(Before rebooting I edited these files and deleted my changes.)
(NOTE: This usb was first used with my laptop, that is also were I ran all the upgrades.)
(NOTE: This was the first time using this usb with my desktop)
Then I needed to use windows, so I got off kali and booted in. However, I found that I could not connect to the internet. And my wired connection said
Unidentified Network
Public Network.

I have allready checked the cord, and switched to one that I knew worked.
I have also reset the bios.

Furthermore, while I was replacing the ethernet cord, I noticed that when I plugged the new one in, I didnt get any led lights on the ethernet port of my motherboard.
Does anyone know anything I can do to fix this issue?

Solution
OK! Fixed it, for anyone who has this problem later. All I had to do was remove the motherboard's CMOS battery for ~10 minutes, and wipe my hard drive to reinstall windows. After reinstalling all the drivers, it worked fine.
