Hi, guys I just purchased new transcend 4GB 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM to increase RAM of my laptop.

My laptop is HP pavilion dv6 3109tu which supports upto 8GB RAM and OS is 8.1 (update 1) 64bit.

RAM: 1GB + 2GB DDR3 (both 1333MHz)

I want to replace 1GB with my new one.

For that:

I properly grounded my self.
Changed my RAM properly.
Tried new ram in both slots but still not boot up.
Both slots are working fine because old RAMs are working properly.
Checked configuration in boot option it shows 6GB Memory.
Memory Test Passed.

But still laptop not boot up. It shows blue screen without any message and hang up sometimes shows the colored strips over windows logo.
Now I cant understand what actual problem is ?

Is the ram you are using compatible with the computer? Sometimes you have to buy a specific ram for specific laptops.

Try running Windows in safe mode. Then try reinstalling Windows if you can.

Also try to go into your Bios. Since you were at least able to get to the Windows boot screen I would think that it is your operating system's fault.
