is there a program to detect viruses making bad sectors on a hard drive

I have a brand new hard drive that says it has bad sectors.I believe its a virus.Is there a program that can detect & fix the original virus language & rewrite or erase it so I can install an OS on the hard drive? I used an electronic eraser ( CRU-DataPort Drive Erazer Ultra) to hopefully erase it.I can't put an OS on it now & it still says bad sectors.What should I do?

Hi there AmazonWoman64,

After the drive is brand new and already has some bad sectors on it, I would also advise you to RMA it. Once bad sectors appear, they will continue to do so eventually.
