My computer ran out of disk space i thought the night before i had free up some space. The next day i turn on computer i notice alot of icon on the desktop was missing and when i click on folder like my document which i had alot of gb of stuff in their it show empty. My computer missing alot of stuff but when i go to my computer look at my c drive it showing alot gb is used up on computer but cant see anything.

Been messing around when i go to start my computer local c drive i see the message these files are hidden click on show content of this folder i see all my stuff their in different folders.

Seem like i am in all user account and need to be in user account. When i go to C:\Documents and Settings user folder i see my stuff when i go to user i see what i see now. When first turn my computer on basically new computer. Empty but when i right click the box that comes normally white it's gray have free space now.

I am assuming you are running Windows XP?

Did you log in with your normal user account?

If yes on both, you may need to "take ownership" of the folders so that you have access to the files. It may also be that your user profile has been corrupted - in which you need to create a new user account and then take ownership of the folders....

Just making sure if i need to do when go to my document setting and click the user folder where all my stuff is at i can open item in their like spybot. But if i click to open lets say firefox all my bookmarks and stuff is gone or when i try play video the video player wont come up.

It appears that some kind of corruption has occurred on your hard drive. It could be the user profile (most likely), or it could be a problem with the hard drive (mechanical failure) that will create bigger problems as you continue. The first step you should take is to test your hard drive with diagnostic software from the manufacturer - if they say it is good, then you should look to repair your windows installation. If they say it is bad - you need to replace the hard drive.

Either way - I would suggest you backup your important data first - the stuff you can't life without needs to be saved off that hard drive....

That the CPU you have not the hard drive.

What exactly did you do to free up the space?

How much free space do you have? When you turn on the computer do you get any messages?

400 mb now not when this happen i thought had free up some space night before but next morning turn computer it had zero. And was tired night before so night sure if really did free some space or was just little file i deleted or something.

If you don't have enough space, Windows won't load properly. Go through the system and make sure you have at least 10% free space.

Also make sure you don't go around deleting random files, if you don't know what a file is for, don't touch it. Make sure your recyle bin is emply, delete all internet temp files, you can also set the internet temp files to something like 50-100MB instead of the default. Go through the downloads and get rid of anything you installed aready and don't need there.
