I'm told I need to change the primary display from integrated to the PCI slot through the windows 8.1 bios but I cannot for the life of me find the option to do so? I'm asking due to one of my video cards not working in my win 8 rig but in a old vista rig? I haven't updated bios or anything. My mobo is Acer DAA75L APACKER 48
My PC is quite modern, but a certified PC technician told me he was stumped and said it might be a compatibility problem.

Solution
If you are trying to use a discrete card in place of your integrated video, you simply install the card and move the monitor's cable from the integrated port to the card's port.
Btw, I presume you meant the PCIe x16 slot, not the PCI slot.

Yes the PCIe x16 slot, but even though i had plugged in my cable to the New video card port, my monitor recieved no display? I tried the card in a different pc and recieved signal and was able to install the card properly. I was told my PC might have the PCIe slot disabled in the Win 8 BIOS but i cannot find the option to change the primary output setting?
