I posted yesterday about my motherboard giving me trouble. Today I bought a completely new motherboard, processor and power supply. I got everything up and running but I'm having trouble installing windows 7. I get up to step 2 installing windows where they ask for a driver and gives me the option to browse through files.

I downloaded windows 7 onto a bootable usb but Windows doesn't have the driver I need for my mother board. The mother board of course came with a disk but I don't have a disk drive installed onto my computer.

I do however have one on my mother's laptop. So how can I go about doing this?

Go to your Motherboard website from where you can download all drivers and utilities (you need USB).. ask a friend or your mother with pc that have internet so that you can download first the lan driver for internet.

I'm on my mother's laptop right now so I don't think I need a friend. And I have the disk with the drivers so I don't need to go onto the site.

What do you mean lan drives though?

Okay so when Windows asks me for the driver, what file do I pick? I know it should be a .sys
