I have an intel core i7 4970k with an enermax t40 black twister and its been cooling my cpu overall pretty, well, i built my pc over 2 weeks ago now
my idle temps are 28-32 degrees.
when i run primetest it goes up to 90 98 degrees someitmes 100
what do i do?

He clearly means 4790k. But you should reseat the cooler with new thermal paste. How much paste did u use? And what are your temps in games because prime is a worst case load and doesnt reflect what happens under a real world application

Yh sorry guy above i meant 4790k and i already did reseat my cooler on games im getting between 40-55 degrees which is good? and for primetest i selected "8 workers", this time i went to 2 and my temps were a lot lower
but overall playing games or just browsing my temps are good. i already applied artic silver etc and reseated my heatsink firmly not long ago and it improved??

Silver 5 takes time to cure so you should see your temps continue to improve. That temp is fine in games and prime isnt giving a reliable result because you will never load the chip that much. If the temp is fine in games and other heavy apps dont worry about the high temps in prime

Running at that temp is not good. Unless you are getting temps like that when you are playing games or using the pc to actually do something (not just benchmark) you dont need to worry

oh right okay then
its just because ive been having problems with my video card display driver keeps crashing and recovering and some say it could be my graphics card, some say power supply, some say cpu but idk how it could be that. so i was just coming here to check if it was my CPU, thanks for your help though.
