gpu for a fx 6300

hi everyone im just wondering would a r9 290 bottleneck fx 6300 overclocked to 4.6ghz or would a gtx 780 be ok as well

It will not bottleneck your CPU, but its recommended to OC while using highend GPU.
its better if you will get GTX 970. its better on those cards.

if you are able to afford highend cards i think you should upgrade your CPU first

You could go witha 970/R9 290x/780ti and be nearly fine, but you might get a better deal with a step down so an R9 280/ 770 or next year, you could get a 960. I would personally recommend an R9 280 by MSI, but I am a bit of an AMD fanboy, and I love MSI, and the look of they're gaming edition boards, you could go with a 770 as well though. Hope I helped!

The maximum I'd go with is a R9 290X or GTX 780 ti. Personally, I think an FX 6300 overclocked matches perfectly with an R9 290 or a GTX 780 or 970.

That's still a decent card, basically an R9 280 with a slightly lower clock.
