Had problems with my computer, ended up doing a fresh install of windows 7.

After doing some updates I was able to update most stuff, but Windows 7 refuses to recognize my graphics card (AMD radeon 7870), just says in device manager - Standard VGA graphics. No hardware has changed at all, no plugs have changed. I have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard, and when I go into the bios there isn't an option to disable the onboard graphics.

Here the link to getting the AMD drivers:

Current WHQL driver released is 14.9.
They are some people getting some problems with this driver but maybe you won't have that problem.
If you do, do remember to send AMD your information of your issue to see if they can fix it in future drivers.

You don't need to disable the "on-board" graphics on your motherboard since it actually doesn't have one. You actually running on the HD 7870 but in a "basic" mode.
