Network and Sharing shows that I have a connection to the Internet. But neither Chrome not firefox are able to connect to any site. I just used MalwareBytes and cleaned out some garbage. But that did not resolve the issue. IPconfig shows that I am getting an ipaddress ... but I cannot PING any sites. I have tried hard-wired and wireless with the same results.

What can I try?

If you already used the ethernet port to connect to the router or modem, and still no connection then,
Contact your isp provider

Its requiring to renew its lease.
