Facebook and MSN will not load after Windows 8.1 update

After the Windows 8.1 update, Facebook and MSN will not load from the icons on my Home Screen. A blank window just appears and nothing loads.
 
Solution

try this, change your screen resolution to 1024x768
then run windows 8 app troubleshooter, choose repair.
then unpin the apps, then pin them again
then restart.
after, check and restore your previous resolution

its a ghetto fix that worked for someone on the thread.

I has something to do with the update that was done to the Windows live tiles settings.
