Hi all,
I have been getting this KERNEL DATA INPAGE ERROR BSOD recently a lot of times.
This usually happens when i try to move my files from my pc to my external HDD.
And it happens anytime i guess like downloading movies or some huge files from internet.
I cant figure out the solution to this problem.
I am using HP Laptop with windows 8 pro. Its a HP pavilion G6. Its almost 1.5 years old.
I have a lots of important data on my laptop and it wont let me back it up to my portable HDD.
Its not like it gives error every time i try to do something but it usually occurs when i try to cut and paste my data to external HDD.
I have been using inbuilt windows defender and its upto date.
I have also been getting KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED BSOD one time now.
I tried to update my windows but after downloading and restarting it says "FAILURE TO CONFIGURE WINDOWS UPDATE REVERTING CHANGES ". And it was in a loop for about 5 hours and after forcing it to power off some 2-3 times i was finally somehow was able to get back to my desktop and i am now posting this.
I have also been getting "SOLVE A PROBLEM WITH INTEL RAPID STORAGE TECHNOLOGY DRIVER". Now i am installing Bit Defender AV and let you know if it helps me solve any problem.
I really don't know were to start trouble shooting from. I have also several times refreshed my Laptop using Windows 8 inbuilt service but it doesn't seem to help me and also restored my system to several restore points but all in vain.
Please help me ASAP. Let me know if you need any more info.
Thanks all of you for our time and support.

a company like hp makes a mother board using a bunch of parts from many companies. They get the drivers for each part and collect them and put them on their website. Problem is often they only update their website while the continue to sell that exact model. The vendor of the part on your motherboard keeps updating the driver for that part and you have to go to their website to get the driver.

the intel rapid storage driver comes from intel and you should get the update from them. The version that HP has is old (2012)
here is a link to intels current version:

if you have a intel cpu do yourself a favor and update the intel chipset drivers and reboot before you update...
put the minidump on a cloud server so it can be looked at.

a inpage error indicated a failure to be able to read from a storage device.
How is the device connected to the system? USB ? and what version of USB? (2.x or 3.x)

most the time for a inpage error on a USB device you would:
update the BIOS, update the CPU chipset drivers, update the motherboard USB 3.x chip drivers. Then any driver pertaining to the particular USB device.

reboot then retest for failure.

there can be other causes, kind of depends on your hardware system and the BIOS version and drivers that you have installed.

be sure to install the updated intel rapid storage driver directly from intel.
(I would give a link but they are doing
Scheduled Maintenance Sunday, October 19th from 7:00AM PDT – 3:00PM PDT
and I could not get a good link)

A secondary cause of a inpage error can be memory corruption. Generally you would start by running memtest86 to confirm your hardware/BIOS settings for your memory are set correctly.

Sorry for late reply i was busy.

I used CCleaner so it wiped up all my dumps. When i get a bsod i will post the dump here.

I am using seagate 4TB HDD its a 3.0 USB and has blue color port. But my PC has all black ports, so i think those are 2.0 USB.

The HDD description mentions that it is backward compatible. So i really dont't know whether it is causing the issue. Because BSOD's have occured even before i purchased one HDD and connected.

Can u give me a link were i can get all the latest drivers for my HD pavilion g6 laptop in one place.

Also pls give me a link to download and install the updated intel rapid storage driver directly from intel.

I will run the tests you have mentioned and post the results here soon.

I have installed trial version of bit defender and till now it is going good.

But i haven't tested any parameters yet that give me a BSOD.

Important Also please tell me a free software which can fix all my registry errors.

Have a good day , i will be waiting for your reply. Please post it ASAP.

Thanks for your help.
