I have a linux box (currently crunchbang 11) that's been running without problems for 4 years.
Whenever I run apt-get update or try to load a webpage, the system just shuts down or reboots(rarely). The last couple of times I got a kernel panic as well.
I tried replacing the RAM and PSU, resetting the BIOS and loading the default settings and am still experiencing the same problems.
I ran memtest86 and the new memory modules are fine.
Checking the logs was also pointless...apparently the system shuts down before anything gets logged.
