Hey everyone, im looking to upgrade my pc this year and im stuck on what to get! All i can see when i research these cards is just conflicting opinions, can you guys give me just a simple verdict and reasons for?

Edit; my motherboard is a asus p8z77-v and my cpu is an i5 3770

theres not a lot to separate them to be honest.
especially as the 780ti just got a price drop. problem is currently the cards are selling at a premium, they should be retailing for 350 but instead there 450.
this negates any savings you may have made by getting the 980 as far as power consumption goes.
if you cn find a 980 for around £400 then go for it. if not then the 780ti will do the job just as well and in some cases a little better(due to higher amounts of vram)
.

Your cpu will be good for any top card.
Your question may be moot because the GTX980 is hard to buy today.

The cards are comparable, but I think I would opt for newer tech GTX980.
If you are thinking of a 4k tv monitor in the future, it will likely need the HDMI 2.0 on the GTX980.

gtx 980 is far better as its more power efficient and delivers more power than the 780ti and has more vram which will be better for 4k resolutions as well as multi-monitor displays. its also much cheeper than previously released flagship card (especially compared to when the titan launched) and being around £450 its the same as when the 780ti was released. if it were me i'd opt for the 980 especially as a high performance rig can be made consuming less than 750 watts. My pc consumes 750w and its no where near as powerful even with an overclock ( i have amd cpu and gpu so you know why).

If you still want to play games in Windows Xp like Crysis, Witcher Enhanced,
Oblivion, Gothic 2,3....Fallout 3,etc.. get the 780ti....

GTX 980 DOES NOT support Windows XP... Be careful....
