Could I use my OS with my incomplete build?

Hey guys, I never though of this question and its pretty useful for me since I am building a new computer but money for the graphics card won't come in for a little while. My Question is: Can I use my windows 8.1 OS (Install and regular use) without my graphics card? And can I install the graphics card later without damaging any software or hardware?

If your CPU has integrated graphics and the motherboard supports it you can use your Windows 8.1 no problem. You won't damage anything with adding the graphics card later on. Just be sure your power supply has enough juice for it.
