Hi,
Here is a parts list that I made. I am going to be using 2nd hand parts for all below:
Gaming PC Build:
Budget: 250 euro

Planned Specs:
-Core i3-540 (3.06GHz) LGA1156
-250 GB SATA Hard Drive
-8x Dual Layer DVD+-R / RW SATA
-Motherboard to be Decided:Needs to have LGA1156 socket.
-To be decided: must be compatible with motherboard
-To be decided: must be 300W minimum
-Operating System: Linux, Windows 7 upgrade when able to
-RAM:4gb minimum, 8gb Preferred: Depends on Motherboard
-Case: To Be Decided: Mini or Full size case?

Please tell me what you think of this list. Would it work for under 250 using used parts?
Please also suggest good, but cheap parts that have: "yet to be decided"
Also, what tools would I need? Would a wristband be needed?
Thanks.

Solution
For the guys trying to find a solution, use Pc part picker DE (Germany), not GB, tax laws and shipping ruin any value to mainland europe and it's not even the right currency.

To the OP, ask around for second hand computers, but be prepared; most people don't know that their computer is worthless, you need to target gamers.

Dude. You just CAN'T build a gaming PC for 250$. No matter how cheap you find used parts. It's just not possible, and if you do find used parts that cheap, you should probably ask yourself why they are so cheap (Damaged). Save some more money and get something decent. I doubt a $250 PC could even run games at 720p

Seriously? This post has to be a joke.

Is this poster honestly asking other people to browse ebay for him for second hand parts for under $250 for a complete system? Which to reiterate, isn't possible to begin with.

I'm aware Euros are worth more than Dollars. I'm just saying this is probably a joke post to see what crazy lengths people will go to in order to post something in hopes of being the "solution".

This poster can go look on ebay for his second hand stuff, if he's serious.

He wants 8gb of RAM and a "gaming" quality build for under 250...

it may not be a joke just a young person with some funds that wants a gaming pc. to the op both motherboards have more then one ram slot as you get extra funds you can add another ram stick of the same brand and size. also right now windows 10 is free to download and run. the test version of windows is good for 180 days then the rtm will be good for another 180 days.
